Welcome back to another Cookies N Court adventure! At Shake N Bake Pickleball, we believe a great day starts with pickleball and ends with something sweet. This time, we headed to Greenacres, Florida, to check out Freedom Park, a local spot for outdoor pickleball, before making our way to La Ideal Bakery for a cookie worth talking about.

We put the courts to the test, checked out the overall vibe, and then headed out for our cookie reward. Here’s how Freedom Park stacked up - and whether La Ideal Bakery’s cookies were worth the trip.

Freedom Park offers outdoor pickleball courts in a relaxed community-park setting. If your priority is simply finding free outdoor pickleball courts in Greenacres, it’s worth checking out.

FREE! That’s one of the biggest reasons to add Freedom Park to your list if you're searching for free pickleball courts near Greenacres or Lake Worth. 

Paddle System:
The courts use a paddle system for each court, which makes it easier to meet and play with a variety of people. It’s a nice feature for players who enjoy open play and meeting other members of the local pickleball community.

The pickleball courts feature a classic blue and green color scheme that gives the courts a clean and traditional pickleball look.

The courts are well-maintained and fully playable, with a standard outdoor surface suitable for different skill levels. The nets were also in great shape and ready for plenty of rallies.

There are a couple of bleachers near the courts.

Bathrooms and water fountains are available at the park, although they are a bit of a walk from the pickleball courts.

The surrounding park areas are clean and well-kept, creating a pleasant environment for playing.

Lighting: 
Want to play after work? Freedom Park has night lighting until approximately 9:45 PM, giving players the option to get some games in after the sun goes down.

Wind Guards: 
The courts have wind guards, which can be especially helpful when you're playing outdoors in South Florida.

Outdoor courts. 

Are lessons offered?
No lessons are currently offered at the courts.

Type of Play:
You'll find casual beginners as well as more competitive intermediate players, making it a solid option for open play pickleball in Greenacres. Whether you're looking for a relaxed game or want to challenge yourself, there’s a good chance you'll find someone to rally with.

The Vibe:
It has more of a neighborhood/community feel than a high-end pickleball facility, which can be a big plus if you enjoy meeting new players.

Overall Rating:
⭐ 6 out of 10

Overall, we're giving Freedom Park a 6/10 for pickleball, but don't let the number fool you! The courts themselves are well-maintained, the players are friendly, and the free access makes this a great spot for local pickleball.

The biggest drawback is the limited number of courts. With only four outdoor pickleball courts, it can get busy, and you may have to wait for a game, especially during popular playing times. If you're hoping to walk up and play immediately, the wait can be a little frustrating.

🍪 Cookie Time: La Ideal Bakery 

After putting in the work on the pickleball courts, we headed over to La Ideal Bakery in Greenacres for our post-match reward. Because what's the point of playing pickleball if you can't justify a giant cookie afterward?

This bakery quickly caught our attention with its variety of sweet treats, and the cookie we tried was exactly what we were hoping for after a day on the courts.

Price:
$2.50! After working up a sweat on the pickleball court, spending a couple of bucks on a giant cookie felt like a pretty good reward.

Size:
This wasn't a tiny little cookie that disappears in two bites.

Taste:
The cookie had a rich buttery flavor without feeling overly heavy, which made it incredibly easy to keep eating. The freshness really stood out, and it had that classic bakery taste that makes you want to go back for another one.

Texture:
The cookie had a thicker appearance but didn't feel dense or overly heavy when you bit into it. It had that soft, fresh-baked quality we love in a good cookie.

Creativity:
There are plenty of different flavors and styles to choose from, including options with sprinkles for anyone who wants something a little more fun.

Balance:
The cookie had a nice balance between sweetness and buttery flavor. It was sweet enough to satisfy the post-pickleball craving without being so sugary that you couldn't finish it.

Round. A classic cookie shape that delivered exactly what we were looking for.

Crunchy or Chewy?
If you're Team Chewy, this one is for you.
